Nicolas Potel Nuits St. Georges Les Pruliers 2005

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

Potel's wines are classic, authentic Pinot Noirs that also embody a modern expression of Burgundy and its finest terroirs. Nicolas has always felt that old vines are crucial in order to make great wines. The root systems are very deep, providing good protection against drought, better nourishment and more pronounced expression of terroir. Propagating vines using massale selection over clones gives genetic diversity, greater complexity and it helps produce lower yields.

Wine AdvocateThe 2005 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Pruliers smells of lightly-cooked sour cherries with musky, truffle-like, and brown spice adjuncts. On the palate, meaty characteristics and mineral salts well up to meet the persistence of cherry and truffles. Notably creamy in texture, this finishes with subtly complex persistence. I suspect its expressiveness will peak sooner than that of Potel's other Nuits crus. Like the Murgers, there are only three barrels. (The number of Potel lots hovering around 100 cases are too numerous to mention.)
