Spring Valley Uriah 2012

Spring Valley Uriah 2012

The nose on our 2012 Uriah exudes complex layers of herbs and almond paste. On the palate, it is very creamy with bright flavors of summer fruit and the fine tannins lead to a spectacularly long finish.

Wine AdvocateRuby and mostly opaque, the 2012 Uriah checks in as a blend of 48% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc and the balance Petit Verdot and Malbec. It offers loads of red plum, spice-box, dried flowers and creamy licorice to go with a medium to full-bodied, pure, supple, elegant and nicely structured profile on the palate. The élevage here is 18 months in 55% new French oak, and the oak is beautifully integrated. It has a classical, balanced feel and I suspect it will age beautifully. Drink it anytime over the coming 10-15 years.
