Hall Eighteen Seventy Three Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon 1873 is pliant, supple and forward, with soft contours, racy fruit and terrific balance. Medium in body and incredibly inviting, the 1873 is another positively stellar wine from Hall. Sweet red cherry, plum and pomegranate fruit build into the super-expressive finish.
A barrel sample, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon 1873 is deep purple-black in color. Baked redcurrants, kirsch, cassis and black raspberries leap from the glass followed by notions of dark chocolate, star anise and dried Provence herbs. Full-bodied, the palate delivers vivacious red and black berry flavors with a chewy frame and lively lift to the finish.
Full bodied, with powerful oak and tannin, this is an opulently earthy, fleshy wine with an entry of dried herb, pencil and cedar. The fruit is black and brooding, appropriately matched by sweet tobacco and lasting intensity.
