Yealands Peter Yealands Sauvignon Blanc Rose 2018
|Region||New Zealand, Marlborough|
Vibrant, with mouthwatering acidity accentuating the crisp rhubarb, strawberry and tomato leaf flavors. Refreshing finish. Drink now. 10,000 cases made, 500 cases imported.
This wine says that it's made from Sauvignon Blanc, however there's no clues as to where the ballerina pink color comes from (the skins of a little Pinot Noir, perhaps?). When it comes to flavor, however, there's no doubt this is Sauvignon. In fact, it smells and tastes more like a white one than a pink one. Slightly underripe notes of green leaves, bell pepper, guava and grapefruit seem to have a just a touch of sweetness but this would still be considered dry. Overall, it is a simple summer sipper.
