Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc 2015
|Region||France, Rhone, Chateauneuf-du-Pape|
|Brand||Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes|
There's nice purity to this white, with green almond, mirabelle plum, white peach and verbena notes streaming through, backed by a hint of lemon curd on the well-defined finish. Drink now through 2017. 1,250 cases made.
Made from equal parts Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Roussanne, with 10% Bourboulenc, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Clos de L'Oratoire des Papes Blanc offers classy, crisp notes of mint sorbet, citrus rind and green herbs in a medium-bodied, impeccably balanced package. It's a high class white that I suspect will drink well for 2-4 years.
Modest pear, pineapple and lemon oil scents mark the nose, while the palate suggests marshmallow, pear and melon. This is full bodied and slightly honeyed in style, with a long, plush finish redolent of ripe citrus. Drink now.
