Wine AdvocateFrom the Herrenweg valley floor and the Rotenberg hillside, the 2016 Pinot Blanc-a blend of two-thirds Auxerrois and one-third Pinot Blanc-offers a clear and very aromatic yet fine and refreshing bouquet. Bottled bone dry at a moderate 11.5% alcohol, this is a fresh, structured and aromatic Pinot with juicy fruit and mouth-filling texture. The acidity is fresh and even piquant but well-integrated and stimulating. The Auxerrois of the limestone terroir in the Rotenberg performs extremely well here, giving structure and acidity. This Pinot already drinks very well, especially with food. Bottled in August 2017, tasted June 2018.
Wine EnthusiastA hint of ripe pear can be discerned on the closed nose. The palate is clean and fresh, with just a little texture. This is an easy, light and dry wine. Enjoy soon.
