Clos de Los Siete Red Blend 2014

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

The thirteenth vintage of Clos de los Siete once again showcases the Malbec variety, which delights with its delicious, complex bouquet. The concentration and bluish hue suggest an exotic, seductive wine simply impossible to resist. Of great clarity on the bouquet, offering intense, generously fresh, fruity aromas. On the palate, the wine astounds with its elegant, rounded tannins and fleshy character, underpinned by lovely acidity. Intense aromas on the long, appealing finish lean more towards spice than fruit and reflect the Cabernet Franc content in the blend. Elegant and charming, this is another surprising vintage for Clos de los Siete!

Wine EnthusiastThis wine's bold black fruit aromas are a touch clipped. Its saturated palate offers a massive mouthful of berry fruit and tannins and chocolate notes. On the finish, it's peppery, toasty and stout. Serve this always reliable Malbec blend with grilled beef in the Argentino style.

Wine AdvocateTasting multiple vintages of the same wine side by side is the best way to see the differences, so having this 2014 Clos de los Siete next to the 2013 confirms that the vintage was riper and warmer. The fruit tends more towards the black/darker/riper side of the spectrum and there are some heady and earthy notes, without the purity of the 2013. Having said that, the palate is soft and caressing, with fine-grained tannins, more in need of food than the previous year. The varietal breakup in this occasion was 54% Malbec, 18% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah, 3 % Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. 800,000 bottles produced.
